Playing any music that deeply resonates taught me to search for this connection through musical instruments. However, it wasn’t until I discovered guitar that I really felt that relationship start to take hold of me. Once I began to learn how to actually play and delve into how to play my favourite songs, it became apparent that this search would continue for the rest of my life.
Playing with friends, performing in cover bands, jamming with peers, and meeting many amazing musicians eventually led me to teaching guitar. I spent 12 years in Vancouver doing exactly that. Doing in-person home lesson for more than a decade helped me see how much people loved playing once they knew how.
